Barn Build

THE LOS RIOS FIRE

What Happened…

On October 2, 2020 (at 2:00 am) A devastating 4-alarm fire consumed our guest barn, our 1906 packing shed, office facilities, and several other, outlying structures. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but was completely unrelated to the El Dorado fire.

As many know, we are a family run and operated business. We are devastated at the loss of more than 15 years of cherished memories, and more than 100 years of Oak Glen history. We know that so many of our treasured guests feel this loss with us, and we are humbled by your prayers and support.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength”

Isaiah 40:31

We hope to honor the longstanding heritage of Oak Glen barns with our design concept for our future build.

What’s Next?

We are eagerly looking to the future and making plans to rebuild our beloved barn. The original packing barn stood for 115 years and our store barn was a treasured destination since the early 1940's.  We are currently in negotiations with both the Wildland’s Conservancy (the property owners) and San Bernardino county building department to create a comprehensive plan for the future.

As we look at rebuilding our business and Creating an even better Packing House and Sales Barn we need help. Our insurance only covered a small percentage of our total loss. We are determined to fight on and make Los Rios Rancho an even better family destination than it has ever been. We will continue to operate out of our temporary facilities while we work through the long and tedious process of approvals, designs, and the eventual reconstruction. The best way to help us get the build the barns back and to keep the operation running is just to come up and visit. Get your apple pie, apple cider, fresh picked apples, BBQ, or other farm goods.

Thanks for all the support and love.
